The College of Health and Human Services Department of Public Health Sciences will present activities in celebration of National Public Health Week April 1 – 7. The kick-off event featuring Glenn Geelhoed will take place April 1, at 7 p.m., in the UNC Charlotte Student Union Theater. Geelhoed, a surgeon and educator, will present "Mission to Health: Gifts from the Poor."
Geelhoed's book by the same name chronicles his more than four decades of medical missions to the poorest parts of the globe to treat patients at no cost and train locals to dispense care. The free presentation is open to the public and will be followed by a book signing and reception.
